Hurricane season spotlights just how exposed Floridians really are

This is the day we dread.

It's the start of the hurricane season, which runs through Nov. 30.

The National Weather Service predicts an above-normal hurricane season, with 13 to 17 named storms, seven to 10 hurricanes, and three to five of them major.
