Hey all you Georgians! Greetings from a fellow Southern and a Floridian. I just finished reading "A National Party No More" and I was wondering how all of you view Zell Miller. From what I understand he was one of the most popular governors in GA's history...however I was upset when I found out about his support for the Bush administration. I do however, respect him for speaking his conscience. How do you feel about this man? Do you view him as a Benedict Arnold, or as someone who you just disagree with but respect his opinion?
Thanks!

3. Zell Miller is a coward and a disgrace |
|
Zell Miller is an inbred loser whose mother and father were actually brother and sister. He is also a coward, a moron, and a shame to America abd the Democratic party.
It will be great to see him whine like a little girl, when Bush gets his ass kicked in November by a TRUE American...John Kerry.

9. Calling Zell Miller pro-life is like calling Reagan a Communist. |
|
He seems to be more pro-Ridge than pro-Gun. Zell is certainly not a democrat, so why would he bother to become a republican?

8. Zell was a great Lt. Governor... |
|
Edited on Mon Jun-07-04 12:05 AM by flaminbats
an average Governor, but a sorry Senator. At least most Republicans can take comfort in the fact they didn't vote for him in 2000, but Democrats would never knowingly vote for someone trying to disenfranchise us. Zell Miller is now an embarrassment to all he has embraced..including Georgia Republicans, Bush, and especially Democrats in Georgia.

10. Zell is a big sell-out (or zell-out?) |
|
I used to greatly respect the man. He supported changing the State Flag when almost EVERYONE outside of the cities was against it. The HOPE Grant has got to be one of the most successful and far-reaching pieces of progressive legislation EVER. Republicans used to bitch and moan about how Zell represented big gov't & supported Clinton, etc. (at the time we voted on HOPE, my then-pastor preached a fiery sermon about how a state lottery would corrupt us all & contribute to the breakdown of society). Now Zell's there best buddy, shamelessly plugging his "friends" Sean Hannity and Saxby Chambliss. This all began around the time he announced his retirement. I can only guess that he wants to make a living writing more bad books which ride the wave of talk-radio popularity and tell those idiot rural conservatives what they want to hear (all the while backstabbing those of us who supported him before he needed more income). There's a prominent word that rhymes with Zell, and that's where he can go.

Funny how special interests sure changed that guy ! He was a fairly decent governor as far as we knew. Once he got to Washington, he was boughtout big time and we were sold out. He needs to take Ann Coulter and they need to fly away somewhere and enjoy each other's stupidity. He is as big if not bigger embarrasement as Monkeyboy Bush. At least Bush the idiot is staying with the base. I can't stand a turncoat ! BETRAYAL ! He acts like he is inbred. Geeze..any dem worth their salt discounts the man. He is just another stupid local boy makes good and his oil is running out of his pockets.

are you prepared to execute every Irish man, woman, and child for the crimes committed by the IRA, or should all human beings be judged as individuals for a change?

17. What real Georgians think about Zell |
|
I do not live in Atlanta. I live in what was until recently considered a rural county. Zell has been in state politics a long time and has always been a decisive figure. He was an ok Lt. Gov, a horrible governor (he didn't earn the knickname Zig-Zag for nothing) and he is an absolutely disgraceful Senator. I'm not talking about betrayal to the party or such, I'm talking about his voting records (that's for your benefit little stumpmunky). I am one of those rare people who has always paid attention to the actions of their representatives. I was worried when Zell was appointed to serve out the remainder of his predecessor's term and more than a little fearful when he was elected on his own.
This Georgia Democrat thinks he has literally lost his mind. I think Alzheimer's is not what he's suffering from (I lost a great-aunt to complications from it and I would not wish that on my worst enemy - not even Bush...well, maybe Bush), but maybe something closer to dementia.

18. Was he really that lousy of a Governor? |
|
It appears that he was rather popular after his governorship. He was elected by a wide margin to his Senate seat (20%) less than two years after leaving the governor's mansion.

19. I agree with you about ZZZell - his words are demented |
|
I didn't hear too much about him up there until after 9/11 and like a lot of people (i.e., Dennis Miller), he seems to have lost it and thinks like someone who has an overwhelming fear just underneath the surface. In any case, he's NOT thinking clearly and is being used big-time by rethugs. I think he's using them too.
Or, as you say, maybe he has simply lost it.
Whether or not he has dementia, his reasoning and politics are very DEMENTED!!

Any man like Miller who turns on the party that made his life what it became is a filthy piece of excrement. Imagine if Martin Luther King, Jr. had lived and joined the Klan. That's how I look at Hell Miller.
