What do you think?

I don't want that cult leader given any change to win. If I vote GOP then I would be able to vote in a run off. Winner has to have at least 50% of the vote. Don't count Reed out, he can mobilize the cool aid drinkers.

Course the bad news is that I'll be getting Repuke juke in the mail.

During the general election I can vote dem.

1. I'm going to do that, too.
In fact, 4 members of my family in Georgia are going to do the same thing.

we are all voting Republican in the Primary just to vote AGAINST Reed.

What was good for the GA Repugs crossing over to dump Cynthia McKinney is also good for GA Dems crossing over to dump Ralph Reed.

2. Just posted to the ajc blog..
http://www.ajc.com/metro/content/shared-blogs/ajc/politicalinsider/entries/2006/07/12/two_polls_say_reed_dropping.html

Freepers were initially dominating this but not anymore.

I consider myself a libertarian & strongly believe in getting gov't out of our lives. I wouldn't vote for Reed because of he and his cult followers want to stick their nose in places where they don't belong. This is a very insecure, hateful, & controlling mentality. All things Jesus was not. I'm surprised they don't have the police sniff our bed sheets every morning or have mandatory prayer/cool-aid drinking sessions for everyone.

He talks big on morals but doesn't practice them. Too bad he decided to keep a lot of the Abramoff money for himself instead of donate it to the needy. That would have been the Christian thing to do.

3. Yep. Reed is just
an old fashioned hypocrite.

I call him Ralph "Enron" Reed. Remember, he was on their payroll in 2000 in order to hide his association with the * campaign? In other words, Enron was paying Reed for consultation services that went to the political campaign. (is that sort of "laundering" money?)

4. Don't mean to be a fly in the ointment, but...
don't you hate that commercial, but seriously, I'm not sure taking Ralph off the ballot is a smart move. I would feel better with Ralph on the ballot over Cagle, or as I call him, Casey Fucking Cagle. I think Ralph will be a lightening rod for Democrats, and I think Democrats would fall asleep with Cagle on the ballot.

6. Welcome to DU - that is one of the dilemmas I face
Will Reed on the ticket hurt the GOP? It probably will hurt them some in the short term but not the long term. If Reed wins he will see it as a sign of God and it will rally the cool aid drinkers. He is using this election as a path to bigger offices down the road - governor or senate, or heaven forbid the presidency. He is a slick person who should not be underestimated. The best way to stop a snake it to cut off its head as early as possible.

The real problem with the dems is that Cox & Taylor are running against each other instead of one for gov and the other for lt. gov. They are pretty much insuring Perdue's re-election & hurting the image of all dems through their mud slinging ads.

5. I'd never vote for a Republican
Nor follow their dishonest lead to do crossover voting.

Besides, there are really important races to be decided for the democrats, like between Cox and Taylor, then the very important race for Secretary of State with two great candidates who support voter verified paper ballots -- Shyam Reddy (http://www.shyamreddy.com/) and Scott Holcomb (http://www.scottholcomb.com/), Cynthia McKinney is running for re-election in DeKalb County..

7. I'm going to cross over and vote against Reed and Brian Kemp amnong others
This is no time to be nice. It's time to get down and dirty and play some hardball politics.

I don't have any partisan races to vote for locally in the primary.

I hate Cathy Cox but I'll hold my nose and vote for her in the General Election if she's the candidate.

9. I was in college at the same time Reed was at UGA.
He got kicked off the school paper for plagiarism. (His article trashed Ghandi of all people.)

He was a conservativve ass even then. He even pissed off the College Republicans by trying to rig the election for president of the group. They actually brole away formed another group to get away from Reed.

He is a huge hypocrite and a criminal. I detest him. I will vote against him and Kemp (Ag. Comm) and against all other Republican candidates with any chance at all of winning their primary races.

Emory University in Atlanta, came back about 8 years ago to speak on a panel for the Ethics Center. For some reason he didn't seem to understand that the panel was composed of people with opinions that would differ from his. Each panelist was given time to speak, then there was Q&A. Reed was articulate, his speech peppered with dates and historical references. When it came time for Q&A and others contradicted him, he didn't like it. His manager let the organizers know afterward of Reed's displeasure and how he felt he'd been asked on false premises. Guess when he deigns to appear, he expects his opinion to be the only one expressed and that there is to be no discussion of ideas if they diverge from his.

How does that square with being a "Christian"? Dogmatic. Dictatorial. Self-centered. Demanding. Self-righteous. Yes. Christian....?

A little over an hour ago, I voted Repug just to vote against Reed.

on edit: Reed is from my hometown, went to my church, and is a graduate of my high school. You might say my vote against him today is somewhat personal. Lots of people there view Reed as a hero and as a saint. :eyes: :puke:

the early returns will help to get some of that dirt off:

per 11Alive, 6% reporting:

Cagle 55%

19. We might have beaten Ralph Reed....
we will not be able to beat Cagle. All this did was help put a Repig in the LT Gov office.

There were enough tough races in the Democratic primary, to waste votes crossing over.
