Lingle "pays heed to have-nots" or "seeks cuts in taxes"?
Well, which is it? Those were the headlines of the Advertiser and Star-Bulletin, respectively, for yesterday's State of the State speech.

To hear the press tell it, she's somehow morphed into the second coming of JFK:

As Gov. Linda Lingle calls for more than $50 million in tax cuts and tax credits, Democrats in the state Legislature are saying her State of the State speech yesterday sounded like it was given by a Democrat.

"It was a good speech for a Democrat," said Rep Bob Herkes (D, Volcano-Kainaliu).


Well, at least she's not fighting a war while pushing tax cuts, like her good buddy Gee Dubya...
