Needed: volunteer journalist for 1 day!
Edited on Tue Sep-07-04 10:22 AM by Heath.Hunnicutt
Hi,

I'm working on a project to document what shrub did in the service. A calendar I made is at http://ofb.net/~bushsr

It turns out there is a really important source of records in Wash. D.C. that requires visiting it in person.

I would like to send a volunteer there with some document numbers, and find somebody who will keep the actual information secret. I intend to pass results on to the major media, but have to fit all the information together first.

Someone with a good ability to find things at the library would be ideal for this. You'll be excited when you hear what the mission is.

:)

Write me at heath.hunnicutt (AT) gmail.com

2. Wow, good memory

Yeah, I am one of the two "8-ball guys." The other guy has no strong political stance and shall remain unnamed. See http://8ball.ofb.net/ if you have no idea what we are talking about.

Why do you ask, just curious if it's that small a world?

You know, for a while, I was paying the mortgage selling 8-balls via etoys.com. $5/new customer. It was a great deal.

Anyway, live in DC and want to volunteer?

3. Please... please... a volunteer?
A few people have been by my site, but nobody has volunteered. I promise the information I will be sending you after is crucial to finding out where Bush really was during his military service in 1972-1973. With the Dan Rather report already being produced, I really want to get new facts to AP reporters in time for the media swell.

That means I need a volunteer ASAP, even if I have to pay some fool from Craigslist.

What I'm looking for is an intelligent and intrepid researcher type, willing to visit a US Air Force records museum in D.C. The facts you will be sent after are much more interesting than the innards of an 8-ball. ;)

I wish I could afford to fly out there myself...

5. Could take a morning or a day
I am not sure how helpful this place will be. I have 86 documents' numbers, so hopefully it is as easy as saying "please pull these 86 records" -- all of which come from the same "set" of documents. All but about 6 of these documents will be easy to rule out based on dates that will be in them.

Of the 6 that can't be ruled out based on date ranges, I will want photocopies of them.

This is at the Center for Air Force History at Bolling AFB, where there is an office of the Air Force Historical Records Agency. They will ask that you make a reservation ahead of time, and they will record your name and address.

I don't know how long it will take to drive to Bolling AFB. Since you will have to explain what records you are looking for when you make the reservation, it should be as simple as showing up, picking out the 6 of 86 that are relevant, photocopying those, and emailing me the scans. If the pocket money is an issue, I will reimburse...

At this point, I just need a volunteer. If you can do it at all this week, then you are the best volunteer so far! :)

I can't PM because I do not have enough posts yet. You can email me as heath.hunnicutt (AT) gmail.com
