I've met quite a few of you at the Chicago meet-ups but I really think we need a statewide meetup.

How about having a weekend in Springfield in May or June?

Mt. Vernon from Springfield?

I'm thinking you're pretty close to Carbondale?

4. Mt. Vernon is a looong way from Springfield or Carbondale.

And even longer from Vandalia. Mt Vn is located at the intersect of interstates 64 and 57and then I live about twenty miles NE of there. A bit difficult to get to, but as I am a quiet and rather private person, it suits.

I go past there sometimes. We are going down to Lake Eqypt in late June and maybe we can arrange a coffee meet up then!

I'd love to put something together for an Illinois statewide meet up!

We've tried once or twice before to put one together. I think the last time it was planned in conjunction with Dem Day at the State Fair. That was (and is) just a HORRIBLE time for me to get away because I am hip deep in taxpayers an tax appeals right about then. Needless to say, I missed it.

I'd suggest that we just pick a time and a place, and announce it--period. We need plenty of lead in time, and I'd also suggest that it be a free or low cost thing like a picnic someplace that we can potluck or bring whatever we want to eat...
