Does anybody live in Forest Park?
It looks like I might be moving there in the next couple months. I know that it is gentrifying and that Danny Davis is the congressman. :)

Any hints about relocating to Forest Park from the Far North Side of Chicago?

Thanks to all.

1. Hello!!!
I don't live in Forest Park, but I do live in Oak Park (neighbor to the east).

You've chosen a fantastic time to relocate to Forest Park. The main street (Madison Ave.) is exploding with new businesses. Forest park is a lively town, and if you enjoy wining and dining, you should have a fantastic time.

Also make sure to check out Oak Park, Elmwood Park, and River Forest, all of which border Forest Park. I love the area, I'm sure you'll grow to like it to.

Let me know if you have any questions, and I hope this is helpful.

:)

2. Thanks very much....
That is what I have heard about Forest Park...from family in Berwyn and Brookfield. Condo prices are quite reasonable, taxes are good and the place is booming. Sort of Oak Park influence moving west.

I am relatively familiar with the area and have checked places in Elmwood Park and River Forest. Best deals seem to be in Forest Park and the town has a great website.

Great flash intro.

3. That's the first time I've seen a town website with a flash intro...
I love that they have a "make a foia request" link right on the main page. It does indeed seem that Oak Park's influence is spreading!

BTW, politically, it is a wonderful community. Oak Park, and I'm sure forest park, is one of the most organized liberal communities in the country. enjoy your new home!

4. It's quite sophisticated for a town with 14,000 residents...
And I have written websites.

I am impressed. Checking out some condos a week from tomorrow.

5. Great town!
I lived there til 9 years ago and still attend my UCC church there. Great diverse, friendly town. I know it inside out and still spend a lot of time there so if you have any questions ask away.

6. Thanks for your response!
And you echo what my sister and nieces have told me about it...and, as I said above, I am impressed by the town website.

I am meeting with a realtor out there next Friday and looking around town and at some condos. At that time, I probably will have questions.

The diversity and friendliness sound good to me...rather like the area I now live in.

I checked your profile and see that you live in Riverside...that is another beautiful town. My sister lives just east of it in Berwyn and so I have been through it many times.

7. I miss Forest Park
But we do live 3 blocks from the zoo now and it is a beautiful area. Just a little too "white bread" at times for my taste. I do have a lot of connections tho in FP, so please feel free to pm me with anything. Good Luck!

8. I am sure I'll be in contact at some point...
My niece (the triplets' mother) lives in Brookfield a bit south and west of you. They like being close to the zoo as well.

Thanks again for your glowing recommendation of Forest Park.
