Did any of you catch "The Lord of the Rings" triology at the "Box" yesterday? |
|
God, it was great. (BTW, the "Box" is the wonderful old restored movie palace on Southport, the Music Box.)
The scene where Aragorn leads the troops into the final battle against the Orcs in Mordor just made me want to puke when I think of the Great Wimp at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue riding his stupid mountain bike around protected wildlife preserves in Virginia (which he did nothing to establish) while sending our troops to his personal vanity, concocted "war."

But I watched "Return of the King" again recently and had tears in my eyes when Faramir led his troops on what they knew was a suicide mission just to please his father. We're sending our loved ones into what we know is a cause that was lost two years ago.

2. I'd love to see the whole trilogy (extended versions) |
|
in a theater. I just saw the movies on TV recently, making the fifth or sixth time watching them, and ironically I have just started reading The Hobbit again today.
Bush reminds me of the Goblin King, or maybe one of the trolls. George the Troll. Can't wait for sunrise.
