Any Chicago(land) DUers that can help me find a good place to keep a car? |
|
I'm up here for a couple of months and would like to fetch my car from my hometown so that I can do stuff like not pay $1.28 per roll of toilet paper, do laundry cheaply, grocery shop, shuttle back home on the occasional weekend, etc. Since I don't plan on driving at all during the week, places in the suburbs near metra lines would be ideal because there isn't the whole "must be moved every 72 hours" deal going. I could even pay a small amount if you have a spot in a driveway for a small car. Feel free to PM if you don't want to discuss arrangements out here.
This was in the lounge before, thought I'd put it here too.

It would be helpful if you gave a general location, for example I'm up near the Wisconsin border but still not too far from the Metra line.

...on the Illinois board. Sorry you aren't in my neck of the woods, but we do have DUers who live in that area.
Cheers :toast:

...and that's why I shouldn't try to post in English while speaking in Swedish to my cousin. Time to put the keyboard down.

and the village does not allow overnight street parking. Good luck with your search, sounds like you need to find someone in a suburb with lots of driveways that don't already have too many cars parked on them.
On edit: Lots of Metra stations require parking meters to be fed every 12 hours. Maybe in the farther out suburbs you can park at will, but in my neck of the woods, all the municipalities want the income.

8. chicago is cheaper than you think. |
|
I don't know why people think the big city is so expensive.
Is real estate more expensive? Yes Are fancy restaurants expensive? Yes
Go to target or CostCo. There are lot's of local markets where you can grocery shop on the cheap.
