who ran for city council in Naperville, has just been appointed to the Plan Commission there. Although he did not win a council seat, he ran a very professional campaign, and attracted quite a bit of attention as a good future contender. He received a respectable number of votes for a political neophyte, too.
He has a future in politics. Watch for him, Du Page County Democrats, and support him.
One hardcore republican council member showed up and forced a roll call vote on Tim's appointment, simply so he could vote against him. His vote was the only "nay."
I thought it was sort of funny: the guy doesn't want him on the Plan Commission because he says Tim has not been in Naperville long enough. He moved there when he was eighteen, attended North Central College, and stayed. That is nine years. I read in Newsweek that Naperville has the highest turnover rate, people moving in and out at short intervals, of any city in the country. Nine years is a long time for that town. My kid works at Fermi Lab, and he's not going anywhere else soon. LOL!

I am proud of him. I would be proud of him even if he had not entered politics.

6. That's fantastic news! I was going to ask how he was doing. |
|
I'm glad that Du Page Co. is turning around. I went to H.S. in Lisle in the late 90s/early 00s. It was a conservative cesspool then.

8. He has been getting a lot of good press. |
|
He had it during the election, too.
I think he will continue to get good press while he is the "baby politician." After he has been around awhile, and after more people figure out that he is a Democrat, they will become more critical.
