Anybody else going to the Indiana JJ dinner?
I bought reservations online but haven't received any tickets or anything. Is this the way it works? Do I just show up at the Convention Center? Dean, Obama & Clinton are supposed to be there on May 4th. I've never been to a state JJ dinner before but I just had to go so that I might get to see all of these people, especially Obama, live & in-person!

1. Call the State Party or your County Chair to find out.
I'm not going myself. Will be at the state convention though.

4. I'll be at the State Convention too
since they are mildly interesting. We have some important races in the State this year, so it should be even better.

6. I'll most likely be
The middle-aged black gentleman wearing the Howard Dean button. Of course if someone else wears the button I'm cooked aren't I?? I'll be with two ladies with glasses. That will be my wife and sister-in-law.

7. Ok, I'll look for the black man with the Howard Dean button and
2 ladies! I will be the middle-aged red-head with my salt & peppered-haired 59-year-old husband and high-lighted blonde-haired 20-year-old daughter. I may wear my Obama '08 button (the one with the picture of the whole family on it). I want to respect Hillary, though, if I get to shake hands with her or something, so I may take it off if I get near her just out of respect. I'll vote for her if she makes the GE but Obama is the one I'm voting for in the primaries for sure! I always vote my conscience in the primaries, and if my candidate doesn't make it then I go ahead and vote for the nominee. (My candidate never seems to make it that far--I'm too far left, I think!) However, Obama is the ONLY reason we are going to the dinner. Well, my husband has always liked Dean since his run in '04. My daughter is Obama all the way ever since she read his first book.

I guess we have to dress up for this, huh? I hate to dress up. I'm a nurse and most comfortable in scrubs or jeans! lol I will have to break down and wear some dress pants or something.

Hope to run into you there! I don't know anyone in person from DU.

8. Too Far Leftists of the World UNITE!
I was against Hillary from the beginning. Not because of who she is but because of who she represents. I believe that a lot of our problems are not just because of Republican policies, but of DLC policies that like to go along to get along. Plus the whole aura of inevitability thing she and her people had going made me sick to my stomach. STILL, it was a long time before I got around to supporting Obama. I am willing to gamble that he is the agent of change he claims to be. With Clinton and McCain, I already know what I am getting and I don't want another minute of THAT!

None of the candidates is leftist enough for me. Guess I am more socialist than Democrat anyway. Gotta work with what we have for now, I reckon!

12. You didn't hear the commotion with about 20 tables double-booked?
They had about 20 tables that had 20 people assigned instead of 10. And 20 tables that had zip.

Don't have any idea who screwed it up though.

13. I was at Table 21
WAY out in the boonies. People were grumbling all around. Not me though, I was glad to be there, although a little tired towards the end, it was a busy weekend for me. The double-booking of the tables was a little confusing, a few folks were moved from our table to different ones. Well worth it though. Whichever Democratic candidate we are for, I think we saw the next President of the United States.
