Final rant on radio - Steve Deace
Do any of you out there ever listen to this guy? I stumbled on him a couple weeks ago. Best I can figure WHO has become a church to get tax advantages and Deace is the #1 shaman (my apologies to shamans for the association).
Mikkelson is and always has been a total puke, but compared to Deace he is a wild eyed liberal. How in a sane world could a practicing imbecile like this get a job at a radio station mopping floors let alone have airtime where he gets to spread his version of hate and bile?
WHO used to be a radio station with a proud past. Now it is a RW cathedral. WHO is a 50 kilowatt station that blasts a very bad image of Iowa around the country.
It's like we are in this slow motion Three Stooges movie where the most incompetent, most insane, most unqualified people are put in every position of power. And totally brainless people are put in the media to shill for them.
Maybe the resemblance between Curly and Cheney is more than coincidental.

Are there any other local 'personalities' of Deace's ilk lurking in Iowa that are a total embarassment to the state.

1. He is a has been former sports guy
with a weight problem sound familiar? Not worth listening to- He is trying to out rush oxyrush to carve out some sort of niche to make a living. The only difference is he claims to be a right wing christian rush. I hope he finds it difficult.

2. Why in Hell is this guy even on the air.
radio air time is a very precious commodity. How can clearchannel and WHO get away with passing off this horseshit as worthy of the use of this airtime.
Were the 'marketplace' to truly work this guy would be cleaning toilets.
How can we help the marketplace work?

3. keeping us to busy
Thanks to * and his minions we are all trying to keep above water financially and that is not conducive to wanting to think. Contributing to this is the fact that we are not automatons that is our problem. If liberals were lockstep like the pugs we would be able to spew one thing and then sit back and watch. Thinking is hard work:) and the pugs do it for you which is convenient. Since they own the media it is even easier. I wish we had "The Nation" radio since it now costs them 500,000 $ a month more to send out their magazine. Thanks time and newsweek! It is all a conspiracy to keep us dumb rural and how you break that I do not know or I would have done something about it by now.

:grr:

4. Well, I'm not familiar with this Deace guy
But here in the QCA we have Jim Fisher who is a real piece of work. I mean damn near psycho. The other day I was listening to him because he had a candidate for Alderman in my ward. After she was done, I was just doing things around the house and so did not turn off the radio. He went off on a rant about teen pregnancy, which is indeed a problem. But his solution was not sex ed, or even abstinence education. No, he said maybe we should just bury our heads in the sand about the issue and maybe it will go away. And a lady called him saying that she was voting for the aforementioned candidate's opponent because he "did not drink alcohol" and was a "good family man". He is a good man, but is nowhere near as qualified to be Alderman as his opponent. Anyway, Fisher agreed, saying he wasn't sure if we needed someone like the person he had just interviewed because she has been known to have an adult beverage or two and (gasp!) tends bar at a local establishment one or two days a week for extra money. There has also been a smear campaign full of easily disproven "facts" concerning her and another candidate for Alderman at Large and Fisher won't get to the bottom of it, indeed, he has been reluctant to even discuss it. So there's an embarassment to at least one region of our state.
