2. I'd like to see Vilsack...
I know he is a lot more moderate than what a lot of us might choose, however I do think he would be able to win (even in Western Iowa) and I think that his moderate views are reflections of a good many Dems in Iowa.

Besides, it would keep him from trying to be President for a few years. ha ha.

3. If I didn't absolutely love Bruce Braley so much I'd say him
(but he's MY Congressman and none of you can have him!)

4. I'd think Braley may have the same recognition problem
that the Nuss-hole had. While eastern Iowa knows him well, central and western Iowa may not know him at all.

5. Yet...heh heh
and remember that Braley received funds from all over the state thanks to his dreaded trial lawyer connections.

Look, I don't want to let him go - but just imagine him as our Jr. Senator *sigh* he's kicked so much ass as 1st. District's Congressman!

8. Nussle's problem in Western Iowa was that people did know him
and they didn't like his shady family affair.

6. At the risk of sounding blasphemous
I think Loebsack would be a much better candidate. He seems to be gathering at least some national attention, and certainly is getting statewide attention. And doggone it, people like him. But if he were to leave, would Leach try and make a comeback? Shudder.

9. How about Mrs. Vilsack?
I think Christy could be a formidable opponent for an 80 year old, out of it senator.
