well, I see the primary is over and Fallon lost
so Boswell can vote for that constitution shredder.
Might I say my most heartfelt fuck you to Leonard and the other 105 fucking gutless Dems who voted for that piece of shit telecom immunity bill.

1. Please. Don't hold back.
Tell us what you really think. Btw, please tell me that Braley wasn't one who voted for that bill.

3. It boggles the mind, doesn't it?
I can't figure out why our Dems go along with a Fascist, unpopular President and
his unConstitutional ideas about illegally spying on Americans.

The Dems know damn well Bush isn't doing this to "catch the terrorists."

Just what in the heck is going on with our Dems? That's the $64,000 question.

I'm guessing that they're all being blackmailed.

Also---I think it's odd that Bush would push for this when he only has a few more months in office. He
must really want to do some important dirty work before he leaves office.

5. Blackmail is the only thing that makes sense to me
but what kind of blackmail? "we'll close that bomber factory in your district"?

7. I think some folks get into office and reach the mentality that the must stay in office
they forget why they are there and that during their tenure they must get something done (or at least try to get something done and maybe get voted out of office in the process). Boswell's district is #4 out of 5 on the liberal scale in Iowa...c'mon guess whose is the most conservative???!!! :banghead:.....and I'm sure he'll pander to the right if it means two more years in office to 'get something done'. He's a disappointment that's for sure. I'd rather a member of congress kick ass for two years and flame out than be in office for an indefinite period of time and do nothing (or hurt the party!). Boswell's 'D' behind his name helps us in that the Democrats have the majority (which makes Braley and Loebsack's jobs easier). His votes don't help us much at all. I'd love to see Greenwald take Latham out this year - then Boswell's half-assed representation wouldn't hurt so much. As it is we have two Democrats in office, two republicans and Leonard....x(

8. The only thing this bill comprises is the Constitution
Rep. Tom Udall (D-NM) who is running for US Senate in New Mexico released a great statement explaining his decision to vote against the so-called compromise on FISA.

The FISA bill we considered today would compromise the constitutionally guaranteed rights that make America a beacon of hope around the world.

Today's vote was not easy. I stood up to leaders of my own party and voted against this bill, because I took an oath to defend Americans and our Constitution, and it was the right thing to do.

That duty is most important when it is most difficult. We can protect our nation while upholding our values, but unfortunately, this bill falls short.

9. Ed is a friend of mine and it was a sad day when he lost to Boswell.
A sad day for all Iowans. We had a good opportunity to elect a true progressive Democrat. Instead we get a DINO with Boswell.
