Gah - why do I do this to myself?

Yet again, I tuned into another Steve King "telephone town hall meeting".

:banghead: . :banghead: . :banghead: . :banghead: . :banghead: . :banghead:

With the exclusion of one call from a moderate Democrat, it was pretty much calls from his sycophants & admirers. But someone did take actually take my request to ask him a question this time. But we ran out of time. :eyes:

In an hour and a half I learned that everything is bad because of "those libruls": Obama, Barney Frank, Al Franken, The New Deal, Unions, etc.

Also, I learned that Steve has this quote in his Blackberry:

“You cannot legislate the poor into freedom by legislating the wealthy out of freedom. What one person receives without working for, another person must work for without receiving. The government cannot give to anybody anything that the government does not first take from somebody else. When half of the people get the idea that they do not have to work because the other half is going to take care of them, and when the other half gets the idea that it does no good to work because somebody else is going to get what they work for, that my dear friend, is about the end of any nation. You cannot multiply wealth by dividing it.”

- Dr. Adrian Rogers, 1931 - 2005

(this guy was a minister)

I really need to take a shower now.

:banghead: . :banghead: . :banghead: . :banghead: . :banghead: . :banghead:

edit: FYI, the world as we know it might collapse in two or three years.

1. You are far braver than I. When those calls come here, I nearly dislocate my shoulder slamming
the phone down. I can't even imagine trying to listen to anything he has to say, after reading some of his "articles" in the Des Moines Register -- loved the one where he knew exactly the percentage of Mexican women who are pregnant when they sneak across the border. He pulls statistics out of his ass all the time and people seem to fall for it, including him. gah.

4. One person complimented him on fighting "those people" at the Des Moines Register!
These people usually raise my blood pressure but this time I found it sadly humorous (maybe it was that extra glass of wine with dinner).

They really seem to be grasping at anything.

2. Al Franken?
He hasn't even done anything yet! Morans.

3. Somebody asked him about the fairness doctrine.
First he had to explain the fairness doctrine to his constituents. In his explanation, he said that if Rush talks for three hours then we have to let Al Franken talk for three hours.

I guess nobody told him that Al is on his way to Washington DC.
