Can anyone explain to me why the tornado siren has blown 4 times here in Des Moines tonight?
I am listening to Iowa Public Radio, and they have had no tornado warnings for Polk County.
Thanks...

1. there were tornado sightings in Winterset and Creston, |

from what I gather. A tornado had touched ground 27 miles southwest of Des Moines. But they've lifted the warning from Polk County already.

There were some warnings to the south and west of Des Moines. The storms are still going as of 8:20 pm but the tornadoes have fizzled out, a good part of the state is under a watch until 9 pm. The Weather Channel has been covering it for the last couple of hours.
