The numbers do not add up.

Consider: In Kansas, pregnant girls under the age of 16 are assumed to be crime victims, as sex among teens 15 and younger is illegal.

Thus, Kline's sharp focus on child rape as justification for his investigation.

But Kline did not ask for the records on all 214 abortions performed on underage girls in 2003. No, he asked only for the medical records of 90 patients, ages unspecified, who received late-term abortions — those after the 21st week of pregnancy.

more . . .

1. He's definitely got something up his sleeve.
I find him one of the creepier politicians in Kansas. He's too devious, and too ambitious in pushing the RW agenda.

2. Bizarre...
I don't know. It seems like some of the anti-abortion advocacy is just getting weirder and weirder. I heard there was one about a guy in Texas who refused, as a pharmacist, to give out birth control. (I think it was on the Daily Show, but I read about three weeks later that his license was taken away.)

Is that even anti-abortion? I mean, if someone wants to pull a back-door crack down on underage abortion, why would you jack only about half of the records? Weird.

Watch for a list of girls' names in the paper. I would be soooooo pissed.

3. It's less than half the records, since he wants ALL the late-term
records from these clinics, not just for underage patients. I think it's part of his plan to outlaw late-term abortion altogether.
