ARE GOV FLETCH ET Al. BAILING OUT A GERMAN COMPANY? by Chris Tobe
My question is the city/state bailing out Eon (a German company) of hundreds of millions of environmental liabilities by building the stadium? Has Eon promised to take on any yet undiscovered environmental liabilities if the stadium is built there? If not this project could be even more millions more expensive than thought. This morning I heard related to the Port scandal that legislation was introduced forbidding any foreign company from owning and controlling public infrastructure. This includes utilities. Specifically this means EON's ownership of LG&E. Chris Tobe Former Assistant to State Auditor Ed Hatchett

ownership of Lexington's water company. They are selling it, but refuse to sell to us.
forgot to say, even though barring foreign companies from owning utilities would help in our fight with RWE, I don't know what the repercussions would be nationwide.

2. Ya know, the push to sell that site off Main Street for the UofL arena |
|
has seemed awfully pushy. I was thinking the other day that it was probably some way for LG&E (Eon) to make some money and eliminate that site of theirs.
And Pitino reportedly saying he wouldn't coach if the arena were built on the Water Company property?
Something stinks...badly.
