Fletcher to pick 2 judges in case
Stumbo concerned about impartiality

By Elisabeth J. Beardsley

The Courier-Journal

Two Kentucky Supreme Court justices have removed themselves from a case involving the state hiring investigation, after the court was asked to settle a dispute over Gov. Ernie Fletcher's pardon power.

The double vacancy sets in motion a little-used process under which the state constitution allows Fletcher to appoint temporary judges to fill the seven-seat bench and preside over the case in question.

But Attorney General Greg Stumbo's office, which is leading the merit hiring investigation, said it was concerned that Fletcher would have power to pick the judges who will decide his own case.

Fletcher's office issued a statement refusing the attorney general's request.

"The constitution confers this duty on the governor alone," the statement said. "Gov. Fletcher will fulfill his constitutional duty in this case, as prior governors have done in previous administrations when similar situations arose."

Wow, Ernie really is a moran isn't he? Does he really think people will stand for this? Well I reckon he does. Maybe he's right, but I see people getting upset with this latest attempt to subvert justice.

1. Ernie is such a dispicable worm.
Why can't they go ahead and decide the case with two vacancies?
