two questions
And I am being very serious and don't need flames. I keep thinking of the prisoners in the jails (CAGES) and the Audubon Zoo (CAGES) with the city flooding. You know, cages. Does anyone know if the prisoners and zoo animals were taken to safety somewhere. I can't even deal with people trapped in attics (CAGES) with the waters rising as I have been watching rescue people axing through roofs getting people out of their homes. This beautiful city flooding... and people and animals trapped. It's just so horrible, all of this suffering...I have no words.

2. I was just there in March and have been there many
many times over the years. I love that city. Also that whole ecosystem there where the migratory birds use the River as a major flyway and all those wildlife refuges south of the city. I also keep thinking of the animals in Lafayette Historical Park south of New Orleans, all those birds, the nutria, the alligators, I know it sounds strange, but I get so upset about helpless people AND animals just suffering, drowning, scared....

I am crying for them down there... that misery and pain.

Thanks, I will keep my fingers crossed

3. heard on TV...don't know if it's accurate
Prisoners in downtown N.O. were not evacuated to any other place. Unlike many in N.O., they are fine.

Prisoners in Angola prison were evacuated north. Unlike so many in N.O., they are fine.

thanks for your concern.

4. downtown New Orleans not evacuated but fine? interesting...
These are the cast-off as they are. It's difficult for me to imagine such care being exercised for them while such criminal negligence for the rest of the city.

5. the jail has back-up generators
and enough food and water stocked for a month...they have to have that....my brother is a jailer, and he says that, in case of insurrection, they have enough fortifications to last for a long time. They probably don't have AC or TV tho. Their toilets may be backing up.
