Mr. Laurel's message to Sen. Landrieu

Which gave me a laugh this morning.

"To whom it may concern:

I wish to call your attention to a flaw in your online email submission system. As you are aware, emails may only be sent to the
senator via this online form, which categorizes messages and generates the appropriate automated response by subject selected from a pull
down menu.

The subject pull down menu, however, offers no option to select the oil spill as a subject. As the oil spill is the number one policy concern of most of the senator's constituents at the moment, she should give them the opportunity to express their views on the matter. I am sympathetic that the senator's continuing patronage of the oil and gas industry places her at odds with the wishes of her constituents. Nevertheless, she could at least have the good manners to afford her constituents the opportunity to express their wishes and pretend to listen to them before disregarding their interests.
