Rock Band Foreigner Coming To Rangeley
RANGELEY - One of the biggest events the region has ever seen is scheduled to happen on Sunday, July 29th at Saddleback Mountain. Rangeley Region Health Center Inc. (RRHC, Inc.) and 107.5 Frank FM will present Foreigner, the classic rock band many will remember from throughout the 70s and 80s.

Formed in 1976 and spanning the 70s and 80s, Foreigner racked up scores of smash hits, multi-platinum albums and sold-out concert tours. The band was hailed by many as one of the most popular rock acts in the world with hits like “Cold as Ice,” “Hot Blooded," “Urgent” and “Juke Box Hero” not to mention chart-toppers such as “I Want to Know What Love Is” and “Seems Like the First Time.”

...

In the past two years the band has performed shows for crowds in over twenty countries on four continents. Band member Hansen went on to say, “We have been able to visit places that Foreigner had never played and premiere our music for them. We have a mission to show the world how powerful and fun this new lineup is. We play the songs as they should be played and it’s brought a whole new vitality into the group.”

What, you may wonder, would bring them to the little village of Rangeley in the Western Mountains of Maine? Well, the answer to that can be found in the heart of rhythm guitarist/saxophonist Tom Gimbel who has fond memories of spending his summers there at his family’s vacation home. When RRHC, Inc. asked if Foreigner would consider performing a concert to help raise funds to support the organization’s work in the region, the answer was, “Absolutely!”
