After working as a volunteer at the Clinton event (a packed house) in South Portland last evening, I was able to get to stand fairly close to the "rope line" off to the side of the stage. It was close enough to get some great pics and a handshake from Clinton. (That was very cool. First time I ever saw him live.)

It was a good event. Libby hit LePUKE as the ShitBagger that he is, and Baldacci, Pingree, Michaud, and of course Clinton were all very good and pretty darn aggressive.

I directly and pointedly told one of Libby's top guys yesterday that the Progressive/Dem rank and file are "begging for a clear and aggressive campaign." I told Mike Michaud to "Give 'em hell hard and often because they are not 'conservative.' This is radical right wing ideology we're up against." Clinton's whole theme was about making sure voters were clear on the real facts about how the financial mess happened due to the Republican policies and how going back to the R's would be such a huge mistake. He said that we must make these elections a fact-filled and clear CHOICE and not allow the R's to make it a simple referendum on a current snapshot of the unemployment rate. In other words, we MUST make our case and TAKE the fight to THEM. We must make it a clear CHOICE between the failed policies of the past and the new direction we are working on for the country.

All the speakers advocated an aggressive fight, and I for one took the gloves off long ago.
Please get out there and donate, rally, put up signs, network, phonebank, and canvass for Maine Dems.
Thanks.
