Anne Arundel County Exec -- Janet Owens -- For Comptroller.

Anne Arundel County Executive Janet S. Owens said this morning that she has scrapped plans for a congressional bid and will run for state comptroller, emerging as the second Democrat to challenge William Donald Schaefer in the Democratic primary.

“I am running for comptroller,” said Owens, 62. “I am officially telling you ‘Yes, it’s true.’”

My understanding is that this is good for the eventual Democratic challenger to Ehrlich, as there were rumors Owens would join Ehrlich's ticket as Lieutenant Governor?
