Anyone know what's up with Kwaesi Mfume? |
|
The recent flap with O'Malley and the comments at the Natinal Press Club and the hit job by Ehrilich's stooge brought out many O'Malley posts here on DU. One of them (no way could I find it now) postulated that Mfume may also be considering a run for gov. I ahd heard that he would consider Sarbannes's seat if Paul retires, but that was the first I heard about gov.
Anyone know what's up with him? I'd love to see him run for something, but right now, given where we are, not for gov.

Sarbannes is a good guy and I really don't want to see Dem infighting.

8. I don't hear from Sarbanes unless it is an election year |
|
I much prefer Senator Barb. She is always out there, doing her job.

Is it just me or is real Maryland political gossip somehow lacking in our forums?

7. I did some work for the NAACP and NAACP National Voter Fund |
|
One of the projects was to put together a series of program brochures for the NAACP. In these brochures, he made us refer to him as one of the most powerful and influential men in the world.
In the 2000 elections, the National Voter Fund was enormously successful in turning out African American Voters. I helped to developed this campaign and it turned out an additional 1 million voters nationwide. Mfume didn't like that it did so well because it was a pet project of Julian Bond. So he basically eviscerated the group. And it was all about ego.

I would prefer O'malley over Mfume. There are plenty of qualified blacks in Maryland that O'malley can pick for running mate or cabinet positions
