I have heard you say on numerous occasions that you are a Political Consultant. If you dont mind Id like to ask you a few questions. If you'd rather not answer just respond with No or something. :)
Over the past couple months I have become very intersted in political campaigns and political consulting.
1.) Do you have a college degree? If so, what is your major? 2.) For someone looking to work on political campaigns what would be the best college major? 3.) I am college Sophomore and I had planned on majoring in Computer Information Systems. Would this be an accpetable major if I wanted to enter the field of political campaigns? (I ask because Im in my second year of college and if I switch majors it will set me back at least a year. Plus, my parents would probably be pretty PO'd.) 4.) Is it best to start off as a volunteer, gain some experience, and get in with some of the people who run the campaigns and then pursue a career in the field? 5.) Is there a high demand for campaign coordinators and political consultants? 6.) Any other information or advice you could provide would be appreciated.

I got a degree in Political Science and went to graduate school for Public Relations. It doesn't really matter what your major is. However, I would make sure you take some courses in both politics and communications. Maybe make a minor out of it.
You should definitely volunteer on campaigns. That's how I got my start. First I volunteered. I then ran a few campaigns. Worked in the state legislature. Went to work for another firm and then started my business. You need to just start getting the experience you need.
There is always demand for people to work on campaigns. However, initially the pay is extremely poor. I am making good money now, but it took a very long time.
If you want more advice, feel free to send me a private message.

Next year I'll be busy. I do political direct mail. I need to see what my work flow actually will be. I'm sure I'll be hiring a couple of interns and at least one account executive. But its a long way off.
