for sure how long it usually takes after being sworn in as a citizen to get the necessary "proof of citizenship" necessary to register and vote?
I have a friend who will be at Fenway to be sworn on Wednesday, the 16th. She said today that she may not have her proof in time to register to vote. That seems to me to be ludicrous. There are apparently 1500 or so becoming citizens that day! In my opinion, the state should be sure they can vote in THIS presidential election!
Anyone know?

1. They can register to vote that day |

In fact, if the Obama Campaign for Change or the Mass Democratic Party were smart they'd have a table set up right outside the naturalization ceremony.

2. Well, that's what I thought, |

but she is under the impression, from speaking with the naturalization officials, that she can't register until she has the paperwork to prove it.
