what's your favorite Massachusetts statue?
The sentimental favorite here at DU would have to be JFK coming down the state house steps.
For me, it will always be the native-american on horseback with arms out stretched looking skyward, in front of the MFA.It is my favorite because of how I Feel when looking at it. Usually in traffic, sitting at the red light, I am transported briefly. I see it as an individual sorely under equipt for the changes swirling around him, probably doomed, but clinging to hope because sometimes hope is all that's left for one to cling to.

some runner's up would be:
the Gloucester fisherman
The Concord minuteman(or the Lexington one, not wading into THAT minefield)
Red Auerbach in Fanuel Hall Marketplace
John Harvard in Harvard Yard.

Whats your favorite? And why?
Is there one of James Micheal Curley in JP some where?

1. Some of my favorites
The Mohawk praising the Berkshires

The Minuteman

Gloucester fisherman

and one that's probably not generally known outside the Western Mass area...Barney's Tomb.

It's in Forest Park, outside the Barney estate.

I used to spend a lot of time in that park and I always loved to visit. It was fenced off a long time ago, to keep people from damaging it.

Oh, and the statue/memorial thingy on top of Mt Greylock.
