Palin = Kwame. Think about it.
Has it occurred to anyone else that Sarah Plain and embattled Detroit Mayor Kwame Kilpatrick basically did the same thing?

Each improperly dismissed law-enforcement officials in order to advance a personal agenda. But, while the right (and everyone else) is calling for Kilpatrick's head, the reaction to Palin among Republicans is "it's no big deal."

It's an amazing double standard, when you think about it.

2. Detroit population over 900,000, Alaska under 700,000
I believe there are more people in uniform in the Detroit Police Department than the Alaska National Guard.

3. Kwame's situation is different because he lied under oath
and he cost the city $8.4 million.

On top of that, at the center of the Kwame situation is a murdered stripper or two. Although I doubt anyone will ever be charged in Tamara Greene's death, I still hope that the crime is solved, for her family's sake.

He fired the cops who were appointed to investigate the rumors of the party at which Ms. Greene allegedly performed a lap dance on the mayor, and was beaten by the mayor's wife when discovered.

Sarah Palin is accused of firing cops who didn't fire the cop/ex-husband who allegedly was stalking her sister. I don't want Palin to look good, but if the ex had a PPO against him, the right thing to do is to force him on a leave of absence or fire him. That is, assuming that the cop did threaten the sister, and no one is committing perjury. There may be some wrongdoing on Palin's part, but it isn't even close to the crap that Kwame is accused of.

5. The motives were different, to be sure
But the actions were pretty much the same.
