Stop by the Dem booth at Arts, Beats and Eats |
|
The Michigan Coordinated Campaign will have a big presence at Arts, Beats and Eats in Pontiac this weekend. Stop by and say hi. Governor Granholm, Debbie Stabenow and other Michigan candidates are scheduled to stop by during the weekend.

6. We aren't having a booth this year |
|
It's too hard to get our staff to work it; it's about a 25 mile drive one way and we can't provide free parking. So I decided not to do it -- it's hard enough to get people to work events here in A2 and Ypsi let alone Detroit on a holiday weekend.
We plan to go Sunday -- the WEMU stage is the Pyramid stage so that's probably where I'll spend most of my time. If you see a WEMU staffer who emceed ask for Molly. They can point me out -- would be great to meet you!

2. Need any "pre-planning" help with anything? |
|
I'm not allowed to lift at the moment, and I'm not sure I can do a stint (between the nausea and the constant running to the restroom!), but if there is something else I can do....?

7. OCDP Booth on Lawrence.. |
|
Our booth is on Lawrence near Wide Track Drive. We had a great day yesterday. Sen. Stabenow stopped by in the evening. Here are a few pictures from the event. http://www.kodakgallery.com/Slideshow.jsp?Uc=ndphz7s.4b6ksy64&Uy=-yedjts&Upost_signin=Slideshow.jsp%3Fmode%3Dfromshare&Ux=0&mode=fromshare&conn_speed=1

I heard the DeVos people wouldn't come out of their booths -- totally understandable when you have such stupid policies:
"You aren't paying enough taxes, our public schools are getting too much money, and your private medical decisions shouldn't be!"
So, tell all! How did the Dems do? And how BADLY did the Repukes do?

9. The Repubs didn't have a booth |
|
and they weren't supposed to be passing stuff out because they didn't. That didn't stop them, though. I think Bruce got them kicked out, or at least tried to.
For the short time I was near the booth, it looked like we were doing pretty well, but Bruce can speak better to it.

10. Arts, Beats and Eats was awesome |
|
We ID'd almost 800 voters in just 2 days.
I did get Joe Knollenberg kicked out of the festival, but it wasn't easy. It took several calls to security. I tried to get DeVos people kicked out, but they were accompanied by Brooks Patterson who I confronted personally, but he basically said he owned the festival and ignored my protests about the DeVos team being there.
I wish instead of watching Knollenberg and team speaking with festival goers I'd have called him out with my megaphone and challenged him debate Nancy in public. That would have been FUN! I was hoping he'd reappear and I could carry out my plan.

Sorry we missed you. We were there through Monday at 10 p.m.. We were not able to get enough Granholm bumper stickers for the crowd we had, although we did get replenished.

too much sambuka at the Coyote Cafe. I must have stopped by too late on Sunday or did you guys move? I know I saw that Bolivian group that was playing a ways down from you had moved on Sunday. All I know is Monday made me remember why I don't usually drink.
