House party fundraiser for Nancy Skinner this Sunday
September 17, noon to 2 p.m. at my house.

Suggested donation is what it would cost you to fill your car with a tank of gas.

PM me for details if you're interested.

1. I plan to come. Will you pm me directions to your house again?
I don't remember how to get there other than 696 and getting off somewhere near Woodward. :) Tanks!

2. Could you PM me directions Sharon?
We plan on being there! Want us to bring some munchies or drinks or anything?

3. What's the dress code?
Edited on Fri Sep-15-06 11:54 AM by TahitiNut
 I just don't "do" country club casual (or Sunday chic). I'm more of a backyard slob. Thus, I usually stay away from leks (and embarassing my hosts) ... even though it'd be fun to have a bull session and converse with some mentally-healthy folks.

:hi:

4. It's casual.
Jeans are fine. If you want to come, PM me and I'll give you directions. Mrs. Grumpy, livvy, booklady and Passing Fair will all be there.

5. Really, really tempting.

When I say "backyard slob," envision Birkenstocks, khaki shorts, and polo shirt on Jabba the Hut, topped off with a crush hat because I just can't be bothered keeping my hair combed. I like y'all too much and want Nancy Skinner to win too much to embarass you like that.

Then again, just for the heck of it (and the trepidation it might engender), how about PMing me with the address? I can YahooMap it. (I PROMISE to keep it confidential.) A little bit of trepidation might have a positive effect. ;-)

6. Where's the hat? I don't see no flippin' hat.
Do come. I'd like to meet you! It's always nice to put a hat...I mean a face with the messenger.
Besides, so you don't comb your hair. Well picture this...I cut my own. Can't be bothered to make appointments I'll probably forget.

So here's my self-portrait.

7. OK, you asked for it. (You'll be sorry.) When I was HALF THE MAN I AM NOW

... (literally!), this is what I looked like (Buddy Holly eat your heart out!) ...

Needless to say, there's almost nothing the same ... except for the fact that I still have an EXCELLENT (XL-ent) snorkel.

10. Always useful for sniffing out crimes against the state.
I have my mother's nose, which means between the two of us we had enough snuffling power for several. Had she been more of a liberal, she might have found more useful purposes for her sniffer than keeping track of me, which was terribly inconvenient at times.

Haven't had it professionally done in over a year.

9. There's something ironic about this. You see, I go to a Beauty Shop.

I guess I have a strange mind to think it's funny/ironic that I ("a man's man" - not) get my hair cut at a Beauty Shop (not a Barber Shop) and y'all cut your own. I'm usually the only male in there, except sometimes for the owner's husband. It must be the funhouse mirror I use to view the world that I regard that as bizarre, somehow.

:dunce: :silly:

11. Just want to say THANK YOU
Sharon, for having us all over on Saturday!
Luke, Eleanor, Elizabeth (the "napper") and I
all had a great time trashing your house
and picking through all of your jelly belly beans!

Nice seeing David again (what a TRIP he is!) and meeting your daughter!

Nancy is one hell of a candidate, and Laura
and I were happy to contribute to her campaign.

Good luck in the coming days!

12. Awww thanks, PF
It was great seeing all of you again -- and you really didn't trash my house!

We really need to get together again soon. I wish I could work on the campaign full time, but someone's got to put food on the table! I'd much rather be doing that than working every day -- it's especially hard because it's my busy season at work and I'm not as motivated as I usually am.

13. I'm very sorry I couldn't show up ... what substitutes for 'my life'
... reared it's addled head and said, "Nope." :-(
