First District Dems Out there? |
|
I just called Rep Walz' office to ask about HR 676. The woman I spoke with was very willing to talk and mentioned a few times that they were "studying the issue". I told her I supported a MediCare for All option or some sort of Public or Single Payer option. She did mention that they were talking to the Mayo Clinic and concerned about the inequity of MediCare Reimbursements. I had the feeling she was trying as hard as she could to avoid saying that Tim did not agree with a Public option or discussing a single payer model.
I mentioned that it was People that elected Rep Walz, not the Mayo Clinic and other healthcare providers and she repeated that they needed to listen to the "people in the trenches" (which I took to mean the healthcare providers.
Please consider calling his office to make sure his "Study" includes a good close look at a Public option.

1. If they're listening to the "people in the trenches" |

they'd know a lot of healthcare providers aren't real happy with most the private insurers either and not just because of reimbursement rates. From what I've heard, Medicare does need to increase what it reimburses, but that's hardly a reason to behave as though the providers' opinions mean more than the patients'.
