Klobuchar thinks the Republicans handled the Sotomayor hearings with "dignity"
She must have slept through the hearings or she's taken to drink and wasn't paying attention.

http://www.minnpost.com/cynthiadizikes/2009/07/16/10298...

Klobuchar, who has been participating in the confirmation hearings this week, declined to name names, but indicated that Republican Sen. Lindsey Graham’s lengthy, and at times repetitive, questioning of Sotomayor this morning might have an end purpose.

He could be “letting her explain her words again because it might lead to his support,” Klobuchar said.

Sotomayor’s ultimate confirmation has never really been in doubt. But, Klobuchar said, there were at least two unknowns going into this week’s hearing. “No one knew how she would do,” said Klobuchar. “And she passed with flying colors.”

And the second unknown?

“No one knew how the Republican senators would handle this,” Klobuchar added. “And they have handled it with dignity... a lot of civility.”

As I recall Lindsey Graham was the only other senator on the tour Amy took of Southeast Asia with McCain a couple months ago. I bet if the Republican party hadn't been taken over by the bat-shit crazy wing, our little Amy would go over to them.

1. I want to approve of her so badly and I can't. I feel anger just listening to her because all

can think about is many of her votes. She infuriates me and I feel so bad saying it, but I must.

I was very unhappy about the Republicans during this past week. Especially Graham - I thought of him as a petulant, know-it-all, nasty, whining, cloying twit. He is so full of himself.

2. thank you for this.
Wish she tried to please her supporters and much as she seems to want to please the people who didn't vote for her.

3. Very annoying
The usual suspects put pressure on the other possible candidates and the party old guard sort of picked her for how moderate she was.

I think I call or write or email her office at least three times a month with something absurd she has done.

4. Amy is a bit of a tool, isn't she?
If "dignity" means only that they didn't pelt Sotomayor with rotten fruit or as her if she did windows, then yes, they handled it with dignity. Actually they were condescending and obnoxious in that smarmy Southern way -- but I wouldn't call that dignity. Suck up much, Amy?

:puke:

5. I originally found a thread about this in general discussion
one of the responses to that thread sugggested that perhaps she thought they were dignified because they left their robes and hoods at home.

I really think those old Farmer Laborites up on the Range that she claimed to be descended from must be turning in their graves.

6. I hope somebody is seriously considering challenging her
in the DFL primary next time she's up for reelection. Unless she starts responding a bit better to those of us whut brung her to where she's at, she just might find herself back in Minneapolis without much to do.

BTW, I just ate a couple of your leftover Hebrew National wienies for dinner. Pretty good stuff.

7. Agreed. I want someone else. She is a TOOL and a huge disappointment. I voted
for her but had a feeling she would be like this. She is not working for us and seems to enjoy attention more than actually getting the real work done for us.

8. Forgot to add that the Republicans showed their idiot nature through out the whole
confirmation hearings.

9. Any of us who go to the State Fair need to stop by her booth and hammer her people
Edited on Mon Jul-20-09 08:41 PM by dflprincess
like we did after her first FISA vote (and the same for Franken's people if necessary). We should probably stop by the DFL booth as well to let our displeasure be known. - Maybe we should plan a meet up for at the fair and land on her booth all at once.

Glad you liked the hot dgos. They are tasty and, hopefully, a bit safer than the average dog.

10. That would be fun. A flash mob at Amy's booth.
We would be relentless.

14. Huh? I thought Lyndsey Graham was frothing...
He was so worked up, he needed a fan! (I do declare...)

Amy's definition of 'dignity' and 'civility' is apparently far different from mine. More like from the Norm Coleman Dictionary of Smarm and Opportunism.

15. I thought Lindsay Graham was
having a fit of the vapors! Was Amy even in the room when the GOOBers questions Sotomayor? She must not even have had CSPAN on in her office!
