David Rovics “the musical version of Democracy Now"

Rovics’ and Feeney’s songs are geared to various distinct progressive causes including: workers’ rights/union; civil rights-social justice; anti-war, and universal health care.

1. ret. FBI agent Coleen Rowley and her husband put this concert together
She and her husband have become quite the activists.

They often have great stories to tell and also leave you laughing.

Besides great music, there is great converstation and comraderie.

The WAMM women and men who do the WAMM video's will be there as well as many "activists" who have been arrested during the past few years.

2. Students tickets only $ 5.00
Café, 499 Payne Ave., St. Paul (5 – 9 pm) On Facebook as David Rovics-Anne Feeney Music Concert "the musical version of 'Democracy Now!’”. Rovics’ and Feeney’s songs are geared to various distinct progressive causes including: workers’ rights/union; Palestinian justice; civil rights-social justice; anti-war, and universal health care. Besides his “Life is Beautiful” song that we used last year as background for our Father’s Day peace vigil, my favorite music videos with Rovics songs are “Who Would Jesus Bomb?” and “We Are Everywhere” (below) but he’s written over a hundred others which music is available on his website and at his concerts around the world.

Featuring Anne Feeney, the woman who Utah Phillips called "the greatest labor singer in America”. Granddaughter of a union organizer, long-time Pittsburgh resident Anne Feeney is a great songwriter and performer, and full of interesting and bizarre stories from her life playing at festivals and protests, raising two kids, leading drinking tours of Ireland and at various times being a lawyer and a

union president. (Check her out at http://www.annefeeney.com.)

“She's also lots of fun, and I'm really looking forward to this Midwest tour together in October.” David Rovics

"Peace Sisters" Delia and Deb are also scheduled to sing some new songs as warm up.
