1. Hmm, maybe that's the GOP's new strategy:
Tire out the Dems with endless lies and obstructions, until our brains turn to jelly trying to make sense of them.

:banghead:

Gotta remind myself that Republicans can only win by lying, cheating, or stealing!

2. Repub strategy: "Turn US into THEM." They would love nothing more than for us to become
screaming, belligerent, snarky, lying assholes like them. That is one tactic they are using hence the reason for Obama calling for "civility" to set us apart.

4. Senate Dems have dug a hole for themselves
While it is easy to blame the Rethugs, it is important to realize that the Senate Dems have dug a hole for themselves. If you look at Amy's contributions from PACs and individuals, you see why she supported a really lousy Senate bill that will give windfalls to both big insurance corporations and big drug companies. It is this kind of selling out that is causing problems for the Dems. The people just do not support these lousy health care bills--the House bill is not good and the Senate bill is worse.

About 70% of voters support health care reform that does three things: 1) ensures affordable access to health care for all citizens, 2) ensures quality health care for all citizens and 3) provides better stewardship of our health care resources. Neither the Senate nor House bill adequately provides these guarantees. This is the reason about 66% of voters oppose the Senate bill.

That's why Al is tired. The lousy sellout bills are probably also the reason Obama is talking about starting over. The people have more sense than the politicians and if the debate is public, public opinion will shift and we may get the real health care reform we want. As it is, these bills are so bad that if they pass, we are going to lose seats in November.

It is so obvious that Amy thinks she is setting herself up to be president. Her phony hosting of a prayer meeting is aimed at Evangelicals. Al must be getting tired of Amy too. First she becomes Senator Sellout, then she appeals to the religious right.

6. good points
Amy's been romping in the blue dog park lately. By contrast, Al's making her look all the more Repuke-like.

5. There was a disconnect between the mods and Al. Either that or he was too tired
to answer questions. He just thanked everyone and quoted Pelosi in length and said it will get done one. They then took questions after he was off the line. I got the impression he was really busy with meetings or things. Not disinterested but a bit "swamped" and a tad bit tired. I think he knew he was in for some hard work and I get the impression that he is really truly working very hard. There were a couple of very informed people running it and answering questions but I got in on it late so....

7. I think Al Franken is doing a good job
Al Franken is doing a good job I think--he seems to really try to do what's good for most Minnesotans and works hard. Senator Cruella Klobuchar on the other hand does indeed look more like the Repukes everyday. LOL I love that term: Repuke Klobuchar. LOL
