Bachmann’s Absenteeism is Inexcusable —6th District Representative Misses More Votes than Any Other Minnesota Member of Congress

St. Paul, Minn. (March 13, 2010) — Michele Bachmann was once again outside her district again afternoon, hosting a Tea Party in St. Paul to preserve the health-insurance companies’ status quo while people in the sixth district have to deal with skyrocketing health-care costs. But Representative Bachmann's absenteeism extends to more than just her infrequent visits home — she hasn’t been showing up for work in Washington, DC either. This weekend’s rally comes on the heels of last week’s report in The Washington Post, which laid out the 114 votes Bachmann has missed in the current Congress alone.

Michele Bachmann doesn't bother to show up for work, while her constituents struggle to find work and her district leads the state in foreclosures rates.

Inexcusable.

Michele Bachmann is not working to create jobs and she is not sticking up for the middle class.

Inexcusable.

Sadly, Michele Bachmann is putting big insurance companies ahead of hard-working Minnesotans.

Inexcusable.

1. what a bunch of ignorant peasants
they are 8 years too late.

They should have protested the Bush Admin and those Representatives at the rally.

They are the ones who took their freedoms, their rights, their jobs, etc.

What a bunch of dopes

5. The college with that name does polling, too.
I love that the moron spelled declare correctly once, then misspelled it just a few words later.

Most of these teabaggers only sort of have English as their first language. Sadly, they have no others, so they're stuck with the tiny bit of English they know.

the official language of the US.

9. And, per your link, the order was founded in FRANCE
Edited on Sun Mar-14-10 09:21 PM by dflprincess
so, for God sakes, what else can you expect from them but subversion?

They should ask themselves why Michelle Bachmann is so anxious to remain a part of their "corrupt, immoral government". She must be a closet Marist.

4. Uh, where's the rest of the "thousands' who attended?
Great post and story by Bjorn (please read if you haven't already - Avidor provides link above + it's on the front page!).
No way is that "thousands"...after I read Bjorn's story, I did a quick search and saw lots of "thousands" repeated, except for MPR, which stated "hundreds".

They never get tired of wasting reams of paper to show how big the bill is...like she's even read it!

Bjorn - thanks to you and Coleen for doing a counterprotest.

6. Local news here is using the word "hundreds," too.
I would have gone and twitted them, but I was at my local DFL District Convention, voting on endorsements.

10. The headline over the story in today's Strib said "Thousands"
only as you got into the article did it say that the organizers said 4,000 and the capital police said less than 2,000.

7. I bet if you asked any of those people to define Socialism or Marxism
they wouldn't be able to. They'd probably say something like, "That's when the government orders you around." At any rate, they've been told that these are BAD, so that's what they believe.

8. Thanks for the links!
Thanks for all of the links. I watched the video on Uptake and thought--what a kook! Now Bachmann is telling people that don't have to obey some laws passed by Congress if she doesn't like the way they are passed. The woman is off of her rocker. One wonders what the IQ is of folks in the crowd.

13. I like the sign that says "WWII combat infantrymen NO Socialized Medicine"
given any WWII vet has to be in his or her 80s, I'm sure they'd be more than happy to give up their socialized VA health care and their single payer Medicare benefits. Seeing as they're so "agin it".

15. I know! It makes NO sense...
Of course, these are the people who write to Congress and call in to talk shows about "keep government out of my Medicare" (Sherrod Brown of Ohio wrote he used to get these letters when he was in the House...no doubt still does).

14. I thought a Marist was someone who worshipped Mary -
Jesus' mom.

Or can't he spell?

Regardless, I've added him and sign to my "moran" photo file.

I can see the repuke ticket now - Bachmann/Palin 2012, The major problem would be the egos and psychopathy - not things easily contained!!

16. Agree, I don't see those 2 (Bachmann & Palin) getting along for even 1 day
And, I'm sure, quite the fight between Marcus Bachmann (think that's his name) and Todd.

(I'd never heard of a "Marist" either!)
