Bond defends taking money from porn sellers
Paul Harris in St. Louis was doing a radio segment with a representative from Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington about their recent report, "Addicted to Porn: How Members of Congress Benefit from Pornography." The report names Kit Bond as one of the outspoken opponents of porn who takes money from corporations that actually sell porn.

Then Bond called in and tried to defend himself. It's entertaining if you like to hear people ignore what they've just been told and talk in circles to avoid the point. What a weasel!

You can listen to the segment online (I live in KC, so that's how I heard it!). It's about 20 minutes long.

1. Are we really going to re-visit this spin and propaganda?

The companies in the report cited are CABLE and SATILITE companies. They derive a small portion of their profits from pay-per-view porn.

Unless you consider AT&T and General Motors the "porn industry" - in which case I can't help you.

Edit: This report really is more damaging to the real porn industry than the senators involved. It paints the industry as wolves in sheeps clothing. Publically supporting Dems but secretly giving money to the Repubs.

3. I guess we have to
That "small portion of their profits" is highly lucrative. But that's not really the point. The problem is that if you are going to speak out against porn and those who buy and sell it, as these senators and representatives have done, then it is hypocritical to take money from corporations that supply it. They should either quit taking the money or quit the grandstanding.

2. My clearest memory of this alcoholic jackass is his drunken abuse
of a stewardess taped on a flight. Ever hear why he got a divorce from his first wife? Porn should not bother this obscene demagogue.

This rotten piece of filth is as disgusting as Ashcroft is a reactionary fanatic religious bigot.

Missouri is a sad place and the voters in this State are paying a price for their lack of judgment.
