Teachers drunk at school

ST. LOUIS, Missouri (AP) -- A middle school teacher was arrested after police said he showed up at school drunk, asked one of his students to fetch cognac, then fondled a student and made a sexual remark to another.

The teacher, Sterling Johnson, was charged with misdemeanor assault and a misdemeanor count of disturbing the peace.

The school system will seek to have him fired, said Creg Williams, superintendent of public schools in St. Louis.

Wonder how long this will stay posted, compared to the "IL Schools punishing students using myspace.com" article. Neither title matches the original article - although mine's only off by a letter. But it's about public schools, so everyone knows they all suck.

Sorry, I know it's crude, but it was sooooo deliciously OBVIOUS, I had to say it.

Of course, I'm totally against teachers showing up drunk and totally against sexual statements, and especially against fondling. Not that he doesn't deserve to lose his job for this, but it is too bad that he made this mistake, which will likely ruin his career. All for an inability to say no to the bottle, another one is lost to alcohol.

5. This is going to turn into a urban legend at this school overnight

his name will be changed to stuff like Richard Johnson, Rod Johnson or Hugh Johnson or even Hugh E. Rection and the story will turn into the game of telephone. My high school had a teacher who made porn movies back in the late 70's with students and was put in jail because of it. I went there in the late 90's and students still talked about it.

10. I confess, I did it out of pique.

There was a thread in Latest Breaking about "Illinois schools punishing kids for myspace posts". Then when you read the article, you realize the title didn't match that at all; that the incident was ONE school with ONE kid in Illinois, etc. I just couldn't see why it was still posted in LBN at all - it was total flamebait.

So I made one up of my own to see how long it would last. I should have come up with something besides schools, but that's what I know. I thought it would be deleted instantly. Guess I was wrong.
