Stephen N. Limbaugh, Jr.?
I am looking through the list of what I have to vote on tomorrow. I am never sure about the judges. Just curious, is this the 1 judge who voted to keep the MO photo ID law, by chance?

My parents say this is Rush's uncle. Trying to decide if I should vote to retain or not. He gets good reviews by the lawyers, but I think not if he was the 1 voting not to strike down the law.

1. Answered my own question
Sorry to answer my own question, but he was the 1 dissenting judge.

"Judge Stephen N. Limbaugh Jr. dissented from the majority, saying he would have found the requirements during the transition period from now until 2008 were constitutional and allowed them to remain in effect, and that it's too soon to determine whether voters would be harmed after that. In the meantime, he argued, the Legislature could change the law to address concerns about the costs to obtain ID cards."

and with a last name like that, I voted against him also.
It sure is hard finding out info on judges. I know the state Supreme Court has a Democratic majority on it, but no idea of party affiliation of individual judges. Let's go troops!

PS... edited because I'm unsure of the relationship to Rush, but all the Limbaughs in Missouri are rethug jerks!

4. Judge Info
If you want more info on the judges, the Missouri Bar has rated all of the judges on various aspects of their jobs and how many voted to retain the various Bars. I read through those before I voted.

5. Thanks for the link.
I know judges should be voted on according to their record, not their politics, but I still can't find my way to actually vote for a rethug judge. Well, I'm off to the local voting hall, just to watch and see what's happening. Of course I'll be wearing my fine, made in the USA, IBEW jacket. Here's hoping Talent goes, and especially Sam Graves. That man has not voted correctly once, and by "voting correctly", I mean voting to represent me, his constituent. Luck,

9. Here are vote totals from MO SoS:
http://www.sos.mo.gov/enrweb/allresults.asp?eid=189

Limbaugh, Jr., Stephen N. Yes 1,203,141 68.0%
No 566,061 32.0%
Total Votes 1,769,202

Limbaugh got the highest negative of any of the three SupCt judges on the ballot (deservedly so)

6. I googled the judges before I voted
Aside from the pigboy relative, the only one I found fault with was Smart, everyone else looked okay.

8. Sorry.........I posted before I read the whole forum
I voted against retaining Limbaugh simply because of his name, too. I didn't know if he was related to Rush or not but I hope he got booted!
