Any opinions on the "Stop Over Spending" Initiative? |
|
Edited on Mon Jul-03-06 03:06 PM by TheFarseer
Dave Nabity is on the radio schilling for this right now, so I thought I'd see what people thought. I didn't really have an opinion until I talked to my Aunt last weekend. She's a public school teacher from Loveland, CO. As you may already know, Colorado passed this initiative. She says that this year there were massive layoffs of teachers in Loveland, which is an affluent district. She is teaching 30 first graders next year. And that's in a good school district! OK, so that's maybe that's just one impression of this issue, but it doesn't sound good so far. Does anyone else have anything to share?

1. I heard all about it at the Douglas County Democratic Caucus |

I don't think it will get enough signatures in time. If it does, we need to educate people in a hurry.

4. crap! I signed the petition |
|
a while back at the Farmer's Market. A guy had a series of petitions. The first few had something to do with gambling which I support, so I signed everything he had. He gave me a card so I could read what they all were and I never bothered to read the whole thing until just today! I think I'll be voting against it this fall though.

Nabity is comparing us to South Dakota tax base. So lets move Rushmore, Badlands, Sturgis Bike Rally etc to Nebraska to get more tax revenue.
It's a bad thing.
