Tom Osborne running for Governor
heard it on the radio. Well, we have no chance there (hell, I'm going to vote for him!) and no chance to pick up the seat he's vacating. Oh well, what can you do?

1. Why are you going to vote for him?
Just wondering.

2. 3 reasons
3 National Championships

What's the point of voting for someone that's going to lose 90% to 10%?

I think he cares tremendously about this state although, his efforts are somewhat mis-guided. He's no corporate a$$puppet.

3. What does 3 national championships...
Have to do with good governance? I don't understand?

Voting is your statement on your views on how you want your locality, state and nation to be run. The point is that it is not a popularity contest. It is the purest divination of the total will of the people going. Even a vote for a candidate that does not win says much.

If you do not agree with his policies, I strongly counsel you to consider your vote wisely. Voting for a losing candidate is never a losing proposition, no matter what the repukes might want us to think.

5. I Am A Huge Nebraska Fan:
I am a huge Cornhusker fan and as a football coach I love the man but I won't vote for him. I think he is overly pious and his voting record goes directly against what he claimed to stand for as a coach. So long as he doesn't need your son to run for a thousand yards he could give a shit about the second and third chances he championed for his football players.

Great Coach? yup
Great Man? Maybe, good man to be sure.
a good politician for my state or any other state ? Nope!
I won't vote for him and I don't care what percentage he wins by.

6. I don't care if he lead the Huskers to victory over the Mongols
he would never get my vote. Thank God I won't be in the state long enough to see him become governor.

7. Oh frick. Just what we needed around here. Talk about loading the dice.
The dumbshits in this state won't stop and think about anything except the fact that this is Tom Osborn and they won't even investigate his leanings and any of the political issues.

I have no problem with Mr. Osborn, but I sure as hell don't think he's governor material. Great football coach, yes. Politician, no.

8. The only good thing about this
Is that Osborne's only going to run for one term. I sincerely hope that our strongest candidates stay the hell away from this race, and concentrate on the 1st and 2nd congressional districts, instead.

10. Yeah, no kidding
I think a job like this calls for Stormy Dean! Honestly I think we're screwed in all 3 congressional districts. I certainly don't see any scenarios where we pick up a seat.

9. I won't vote for him, but I do think he would be better than most
of the repub candidates. Although he is conservative, he is not a party man. He will vote his conscience, not the party line.
