I'm in southern Passaic County. The snow started around 2. Now it's a few inches and it's blowing sideways. I have on-the-street parking. Even if I dig my car out, no guarantee that I'll have somewhere to park when I return from work Monday night. My town shovels the streets selectively, only the sides on designated days of the week. My side is Tuesday.

1. Started at 1:15PM around Newark |

Ran my errands this morning, this course. And I had to call the super about sending up some heat, of course. At around noon, the cloud cover was thin enough for the sun to brighten things up a little. That was my signal it was going to be a mess. In Florida it would be called a hurricane sky.

here in Vernon, Sussex County. So far, I'd say we've gotten maybe 3 inches. I'll be sweeping off the deck again in a few minutes to let the dogs out and I'm happy this snow is powdery and light. The last couple of snows we've had were heavy as hell to shovel.
I was dumb enough to hit the grocery store around 11 this morning and it was a madhouse!

Either a pause or it's stopped.
I can't believe it. Looks like less than 6 inches by Paterson.

6. It's all gone now, but it was fun while it lasted |

We had around 18" total, by my estimate, throughout the day on Saturday, the plows went through our street once after the snow stopped, leaving a single lane and three foot high ice walls for us to shovel through on Sunday. Fortunately, even though it was a heavier snow, we have a snow thrower which we made sure was all ready to go - we did our driveway, and our neighbors on either side.
There was still ice on all of our local roads until the rain and warmer temps hit on Christmas day.
