I've just moved to Santa Fe.
Is there a regular get-together of any kind of Democrats here? Is the county party very strong? Who is the county chair?

2. Go to what meetings?
I know the Democratic Party here is quite strong. I even did some volunteer work for the Udall campaign. But I'm not aware of any kind of regular get-togethers here of Democrats.

4. Welcome!
There are lots of Democrats here. I haven't heard of any general socializing, though. Perhaps some of the block captains and other Obama campaign volunteers might be interested in organizing some ad-hoc networks.

The Dem Party here is not what I'm used to, either, but I'm getting more familiar with it.

Try the tortilla soup at Santa Fe Bar & Grill. Best in town.

hospitably,
Bright

5. If not start your own
I bet if you let it be known that there was a get together at Calle XYZ for Santa fe Democrats and RVSP you would get some to come. But watch out for the far lefty greens trying to horn in on a party.

6. Well, here in Fanta Se, there's not much space between Dems and...
...far lefty greens. I voted far lefty green against Jerome Block myself this last round.

There are some very dank corners in the Democratic Party here, that haven't been dusted and aired in generations. It's not by any means the kind of tediously tidy, semi-religiously attached to The Done Thing and Proper Procedure as I've seen elsewhere.

Let's just say that a little scrutiny from the left wouldn't necessarily be an entirely bad thing.

dubiously,
Bright

7. There's a strong, active NAACP
in Santa Fe. They got active, worked with other social justice groups, and are pushing for treatment vs incarceration during legislation, for instance (one of 'MY' issues!).
