12. I have some questions about who is going to be there and plans
When we get closer to the event we'll have more details of where to meet before the protest. However we probably should have some sort of party either Friday or Saturday night.

To be honest, I've always found that the night after the protest people are pretty schnockered whereas Friday nights usually make for better entertainment. But then again many people can't make it in until Saturday.

Please post some ideas and suggestions. I'm thinking Friday night at Rocky SUllivan's (hopefully it'll be less crowded - I know it was for the Friday Night Party during the RNC convention).

Suggestions please!

14. Hanging out in a pub somewhere is always a good idea.
There are a number of good ones on 2nd ave between 49th and 51st steets.

Though it might be nice to find a place with a more tables and places to sit than the average pub.

There are certainly restaurants where we could get a back room. Dinner before an evening out might be cool. That would require some phone calls to find and arrange though.

btw: I'm available to help. Are you the lead organizer for this?

15. Hi Lynne!
Can we meet up somewhere besides Rocky's? It was ok, but it got packed quickly & the seating was limited to sitting at the bar or in kindergarten chairs. And I really hate having to talk over a singer/band. :)

Meeting up on both Friday & Saturday is okay with me. It's nice to meet people before the rally (so you know who to stand with) & afterwards to wind down. :)

Are you bringing the DU banner?

16. did anyone look at the backroom of Rocky's though? It's out of the
question for Saturday because they always have a band/ cover charge Sat.... But if they don't totally blast music and the backroom is cozy, it might be okay. my major problem with rocky's is the lack of good pizza in the area.
you never know, they might let you take a delivery there. that's worth looking into. oh yoo hooo! lynnne! have you seen thwe back room there? more importantly, do you remember it?

The best I had there was in a place in Greenwich Village, which I forget the name of.

17. If you don't mind me asking.....
why do you guys always meet in midtown?

Downtown is so much more hospitable.
I think downtown is the "real" New York.

Don't kill me , those that live further north,
but midtown Manhattan is too corporate .

grrr, no food at the Tiger, and they were fighting their landlord last I heard.
i don't know how the Bistro is on letting you sit if it's only for beers. They might want their table back.
Hmmmm.

20. I hate to say it - that's why the dive bars rule
Restaurants want their tables for diners. But NYC is filled with great dive bars. I know that RBNYC and I went to a fun one down around 14th street about 3 years ago but I dont' remember the name of that place.

I suppose I could come up to NYC for a friday night of fact finding

31. I'm not absolutely sure .....Last time I was there I
there was a wait for the tables, as always. But I think that if people are drinking, they don't mind if they keep the tables. That's how it appeared to me.
And they stay open till 4:00.

All burgers are 8 oz.

Bistro Burger $5.00
Hamburger $4.00
Cheeseburger $4.75
Grilled Chicken Sandwich $4.50
Grilled Cheese with Bacon $3.75
BLT $3.50
Chili $3.50
Chili Burger $5.25
French Fries $2.00

18. I'm going to check with Rocky's but that was a Saturday night thing
when we met for the RNC Convention it was a Friday night and it was the exact opposite of what we had the last time.

But I'm also considering Rudy's because they have an outside alcove and hopefully it'll be nice that weekend

I think half the fun is rallying the troops :patriot: Please help keep it kicked for a few days, I'm getting a little worried about the lack of rooms available, well those under $300/night, for the undecideds.....oy!

Those who live close enough to spend the day are lucky, and even those along the Amtrak routes can do overnights and sleep on the train!
