My father-in-law's car got smashed up and police took 2 hours to respond |

Is this normal in Brooklyn? If so, Mayor Bloomberg has gotta go. Need $ for first responders, and IIRC, the police percient is like, 15 blocks from the house.
It happened right near my wife's folks place in Boro Park while we were there. It appears that some schlemiel decided to cut off the turning point, and unfortunately smashed the back left (drivers side) and the tire on the left side is bent about 45 degrees forward and the other tire is nearly completely off the rim, and the rim is on the curb. It pissed my f-i-l off because he just got the car fixed after a woman smashed up the bumper just less than a month ago. And it is a new 2007 Toyota Camry.

I'm sorry to hear about your family's tzuros, but yes, you can wait for a while if it's not a matter of life or death. We keep careful statistics on our 1st responders http://www.nyc.gov/html/fdny/html/stats/graph_ems_resp_times.shtmlbut that doesn't include filling out accident reports.
