1. Aww, what a shame
Wonder what the story is there?

Did somebody just leave volaltile rags in lying around?

Or did the remodel financing go belly up and it was more expedient to torch the place?

Has the fire dept said what caused it?

2. Investigators say the Richmond Hill Inn fire is a case of arson.

Investigators say the Richmond Hill Inn fire is a case of arson.

The 120-year-old Mansion burned early Wednesday, leaving most of the building in rubble.

Arson investigator Buddy Thompson says enough evidence was found at the site to indicate arson, but no suspects have been named.

"The dog when we ran her yesterday, she alerted on several locations," said Thompson. "So the samples will be sent to the state lab - already should be in route to be tested and to see what we got."

The Inn fire has saddened many in the community.

"It's one of those crimes that you just like how could somebody do something like that you just can't understand it really, I mean because it took away a landmark," said George Johnson of Asheville.

Other areas of the Inn are still operating, with guests being transferred to cottages on the property.

The four-star restaurant, Gabrielle's is also back in operation in a new location at Richmond Hill.

4. Arson just a few days after judge ordered it sold due to foreclosure
this place has had financial problems for a while - this was actually the second arson in the past few years - they've not charged anyone from the last fire, but they did trace the chemicals that started it and said it was intentionally set.
