1. None in my neighborhood. |
|
The northern part of my hometown got snow, then ice. Chez Jama just got sleet, ice, and freezing rain, and no snow. I wanted just snow, but we got a mess down here. :(
One the bright side, our power hasn't been knocked out...yet. And it's only about 3 inches right now even though it is still raining freezing rain.

I hate ice.
Hope you still have power. :-)
It's stopped here but it's getting colder. Man I can't wait for spring. x(

The wind has died down some. That's a good sign. If we still have power and it's still freezing, that means whatever limbs the ice would have broken are most likely already broke.

4. Cary got about 4 -5 inches |
|
The sleet arrived this morning...now everything is hard as a rock. The roads in my sub-division are to dangerous to drive on - stuck at home!

5. Didn't venture out today |

From what I can tell, it's all powder. Makes me think I live in a little ski chalet!

6. About the 8" forecast. |
|
More piled up on top of our vehicles though, I'd say about a foot on top of the minivan.
This is perfect Jeep weather. Good tyres, and proper four wheel drive and you can get about but don't rush it because although you can get your Jeep going, getting it to stop on ice is still going to be tricky.
Mark.

8. 8" in Chapel Hill, maybe a bit more with that last dusting Sat night |
|
Chapel Hill often gets a lot more than RDU, just a few miles away. The changeover is often about highway 55.
Glad everyone escaped the storm without losing power. And the sledding was great almost everywhere.

I can't believe there are still little patches of snow on the ground.
