Coy Privette (Prostitution Charges) Resigns in Tonights Board Meeting

Cabarrus County Commissioner Coy Privette (R) announced his resignation tonight at the Cabarrus County Commission Meeting. He said the reason for his resignation was that the retirment home he and his wife were building was finished and ready to be occupied.

Until this meeting Privette steadfastly refused to resign in spite of his mid-August guilty plea to six misdemeanor counts of aiding and abetting prostitution.

Last month the Cabarrus County Republican Party Executive Commission voted to call for Privette’s resignation from the County Commission and his role with the Cabarrus Republican Men’s Club.

Coy Privette earlier resigned from the Board of Directors of the Baptist State Convention of North Carolina and its Executive Committee.

Last I read he was waiting to resign until he could ok his replacement.
