Victoria Wulsin (OH-2) campaign has serious momentum!
The OH-2 is on fire again and it looks like the district is motivated to shed the embarrassment known as "Mean Jean" Schmidt. This is shaping up to be an even better chance to take the old Rob Portman seat than the Hackett special election was!

They don't allow direct links, but go to http://www.majoritywatch.com/ and click on OH-2 (southwesternmost corner). In the most recent (Oct 2-10) poll, Wulsin is pulling ahead, 48-45%!

The strongest-trending-Democratic area in the OH-2 is Sharonville, so it's really time for the Wulsin campaign to get out the vote there. I haven't seen any Schmidt signs, even in the commercial district I work in. There were plenty of Schmidt signs in that neighborhood during the Hackett special and even during her '06 primary against McEwen.

This is fantastic news for the OH-2, for Ohio, for Democrats and for the country as a whole. Mean Jean Must Go, and it looks like in the waning days, if we push hard, we might just win this seat.

2. I heard, great work VJ !
2nd District: CQPolitics.com has moved the contest in the Cincinnati area’s 2nd Congressional District — which pits first-term Republican Rep. Jean Schmidt against Democrat Victoria Wulsin, an epidemiologist — into the highly competitive Leans Republican category from the Republican Favored category.

This has emerged as one of the sleeper races in this year’s national contest for control of the House.

On paper, this conservative bastion — which gave 64 percent of its votes to Bush in 2004 — shouldn’t be a worry for Republicans. But Schmidt’s image as a hardliner and her contentious relationship with some fellow Republicans has given her a tenuous hold on this seat, as evidenced by her narrow (52 percent to 48 percent) victory in an August 2005 special election over Democrat Paul Hackett, an Iraq war veteran turned critic.

6. 555 likely voters?
Also, from what I've heard, the poll was exclusively Cincinnati. 555 likely Cincinnati voters.

I'm not at all discouraged by the findings.

9. This is the same bunch
that predicted Schmidt would beat Bob McEwen in the primary by 26%. She won by 6%.

13. "an enthusiastic, energetic, atypically selfless representative."
"She is a Democrat running in a generally Republican district, and she shares the values of her party on most controversies. But she has an agreeable, personable manner that suits her to this new professional direction and would help her in making the case that differences between the parties on hot-button social issues are often exaggerated."

Congresswoman. And I'm sure she has a great group of people helping her achieve that goal.
