Good news for Brown and Strickland...
The latest Ohio Poll shows Democrat Sherrod Brown leading leading incumbent Republican Mike DeWine by 7% points. Rademacher says it’s a bit of a surprise to see a challenger pulling ahead this close to Election Day.

The Ohio poll also found 52% of likely voters favor Ted Strickland for governor with 38% favoring Ken Blackwell.

71% of the likely voters surveyed generally were pessimistic about the condition of Ohio and 65% saying the country is off on the wrong track. This is good for the Democrats but the State and the country are being trashed by the Republicans.

1. Blackwell chances: dead, buried, shoveled over with dirt.
:woohoo:

2. I saw Blackwell on the news...
the day before yesterday. He says he's optimistic going into the fourth debate, and that some polls show him 12 pts. behind, some 7 behind. I was like, please tell me what polls only have you 7 pts. behind! I knew that he would try to pull something at that debate to get his numbers up. And if you know his numbers are anywhere close to Strickland's, they'll take it. He'll say it was a bump from this sex abuse scandal, or whatever the heck he was talking about last night. Does anyone know about this? I think Strickland handled it well, but why did he keep the guy on his staff after that happened (Im guessing it happened while he was employed by Strickland).

Oh, that old chestnut. I don't know anything about it except that Flanagan brought it up in the primary. Anyway, it is nothing that Ted did. I was wondering when the matter would be resurrected.

Every poll I see shows double digits between the two. Some in the twenties.

P.S.
U. of Cincinnati today puts Strickland ahead 52-38.

4. That's good...
Every poll I've seen has shown Ted ahead by double digits, too. I'm glad to see the U.C. poll - I didn't think what Blackwell pulled would have any affect on the numbers, but you never know in this state. Blackwell definitely tried his best to appeal to conservatives last night - notice he didn't answer the question about condoms in schools, and went off on some speal about religion. I thought he was really going to lose it when he said, "This is the Buckeye state and you need to buck up!" Lol! I hope that comment reminded people that Bush called Blackwell a nut...

7. He hired a guy wath an expunged record. Got an anonymous tip that
the staffer denied. You don't get an expungement for years and you have to be squeaky clean to get it

5. This is great news! Lets keep pounding the pavement.
I wonder if there is a trickle down, whether we will gain seats in the state legislature.
